Hi All.
As you will be aware, the recent UK Government announcement confirmed the start of another national lockdown from Thursday 5th November.
British Cycling have now provided their guidance and have confirmed that all cycling events, including club group cycling, is suspended until further notice.
The British Cycling guidance can be seen on the BC website https://www.britishcycling.org.uk
Unfortunately, we now have to suspend all club rides until further notice.
However, it is still permissible to ride with one other person (please refer to BC guidelines for full details).
Please feel free to contact your friends or other members using the Club Facebook page if you would like to buddy up with someone but please be aware these are personal and not club sanctioned activities. If you get chance, then please consider calling in to any of the many cafes for a takeaway to help them get through this lean time, as we need them to be there for us after lockdown and I’m sure they would appreciate any trade.
Also, keep an eye out for further information on club group Zwift rides. The recent experiment was successful, and the virtual ride and social chat was quite entertaining. More information will be sent out in due course.
A huge thank you to everyone who has come along to the Covid adapted club rides over the last few weeks and made them so successful.
Also, a special thanks to Tony and Simon who have worked very hard to adapt the rides so well, as it has been a lot of hard work for them but it is much appreciated.
Please be reminded that the club AGM will be held on Wednesday 11th November via Zoom.
If you would like to join us then please contact Bill Olver for details via the clubs website ‘Contact’ page or email him at:
In the meantime, look after yourselves and we will resume club activities again after lockdown conditions allow.
Martin Cain
Chairman
