Centenary Celebrations

Updated: Oct 16, 2021

C&CCC centenary logo

On 23rd October it’ll be exactly 100 years since the original founders of C&CCC completed their first club ride from Teddington Hands to Broadway and back. To celebrate this historic milestone the club have planned a number of rides and events for the day.

The 100 Years Rides

There’ll be all the usual ride groups plus a special Vintage ride on the big day – Saturday 23rd October. All rides and the BBQ afterwards will be open to past club members and members’ partners who may also want to celebrate with us, so it’ll be a great opportunity to catch up with some familiar faces.

Vintage – if you fancy riding a vintage, or just a plain old bike, whilst perhaps taking advantage of the opportunity to also wear vintage clothes in true Eroica style then this is for you. This will be a great opportunity for you to dust off that old down-shifter steel steed, ride it and then show it off to fellow club members after arriving back in Cheltenham. The ride will assemble at the Pump Rooms at 8.30.

Registration is not essential, but it helps us to know numbers and so better manage the rides and catering for you.

You can register for the rides here: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/179961709317

Road – rides will depart from the Pump Rooms with the different speed groups available as usual. Departure time 09.00.

MTB – ride to Broadway will depart from the Pump Rooms as usual. Departure time 09.00.

All three rides will of course run to Broadway with the aim being to arrive at the Centenary BBQ at Cheltenham Cricket Club at the same time. Finalised route details will be published on the club calendar.

Centenary BBQ 13:00-17:00

After the rides have finished there’ll be a club BBQ with veggie/vegan options at Cheltenham Cricket Club in Fairview where we can all get together over a drink and food. We’ll also be able to view the Classic bikes with prizes being awarded for the best presented example.

The venue has indoor capacity in the event of bad weather. Hope to see lots of you there.
