37th HONC - Can you help on 4th September. Contact honc@cheltenhamandcounty.cc

Dear club members,

It’s HONC time again!

We are well advanced in the planning of this year’s event based in the grounds of Sudeley Castle again. Again, following last years start format there will be no mass start, instead riders will be able to register and go anytime between 7.30 and 9.30 am with a choice of 50k, 75k and 100k courses. We are expecting to sell out for this years event with 1000 riders entering.

HONC VOLUNTEERS

Thanks to the fantastic volunteer support we receive from you, HONC is able to raise income for both Winchcombe and Cheltenham & County Cycling Clubs, as well as donating to a wide range of local and national charities/organisations such as, County Air Ambulance, British Heart Foundation and Cleeve Common Conservation, last year totalling over £4000.

Cheltenham & County CC traditionally provides on course marshals on the day and in the lead up and sign half of the route.

On the day we will need 20 static marshals for busy road junctions and some key points on the courses and 10 rider marshals for tail-ending and sign-collection. Due to the staggered rider start times we need to cover the route from 7:30am to 5:30pm. Normally we plan marshal shift times to be 1.5 to 2 hours in duration

We have always received fantastic support from club members and we hope we can count on that help again?

Please let us know if you can lend a hand on the day or in the lead up and the preferred role or roles you would like to take part in and also if am/pm shifts preferred.

Please reply by the 28th August to Rich Preston & Chris Vevers
