Tomorrow sees the last of the Kerstperiode (Christmas period) races from Koksijde. Famed for its sandy course in the dunes, it should have been the penultimate head to head this season for Pidcock, van Aert and van der Poel. However, Pidcock has withdrawn due to illness and I'm sure it will still be a great race (13.55). Of late, the Elite Women (12.30) have proved the more exciting to watch. Time to finish off the last of the mince pies... 😋
Time for an update.
Mathieu van der Poel is now coming out to play a couple of weeks earlier at Herentals, the same day Tom Pidcock starts his season. Herentals is Wout's back yard. Might he be tempted as well?
But still none of them are coming out for Christmas as early as Michael Bublé.
