Hot Laps #2 was fantastic – a brilliant little circuit and some fun riding. Great to see so many new and familiar faces
Here are the times for each rider:
Hope to see you all again next week where we’ll also have kids racing.
ADVANCE ENTRY FOR 16TH JULY OPEN ON THE BRITISH CYLING WEBSITE: https://www.britishcycling.org.uk/events?series_id=735
On hot summer Friday evenings in June and July this year, we will be holding some relaxed, friendly off-road riding at Pittville Park on the grass cyclocross course.
Starting from 6pm, you can ride your bike around a specially laid out course to test your skills and have some fun. And then from 7pm, there will be a hot lap time trial where you’ll get to see how quickly you can circumnavigate the course.
There will a few prizes and things but the emphasis is on having some fun and getting stuck in. Nothing too serious! You can use any bike that’s in reasonable working order. Something with wide tyres is best. If it’s dry ground, your road bike will be fine as long as you don’t mind the odd bumpy section!
We hope this will be a good spectator and social event so feel free to bring a picnic and some refreshments along. They’ll be some teas, coffees and cakes on sale too.
There will also be mountain bike skills displays and other razzmatazz.
To sign up for the riding, you’ll need to register over on the British Cycling website. The fee is just £3. Minimum age is 14 and we will favour local riders if the events are over subscribed. You can sign up on the night too if there is any space left.
