Relaxed, friendly off-road riding at Pittville Park on the grass cyclocross course. It will be a good spectator and social event so feel free to bring a picnic and some refreshments along. They’ll be some teas, coffees and cakes on sale too.
Free to watch, or just £3 to race. Enter on the night or in advance over on the British Cycling website. Anyone can enter – no need to be a member of anything. Minimum age is 14 and we will favour local riders if the events are over subscribed.
Starting from 6pm, you can ride your bike around a specially laid out course to test your skills and have some fun. And then from 7pm, there will be a hot lap time trial where you’ll get to see how quickly you can circumnavigate the course.
There will a few prizes and things but the emphasis is on having some fun and getting stuck in. Nothing too serious! You can use any bike that’s in reasonable working order. Something with wide tyres is best. If it’s dry ground, your road bike will be fine as long as you don’t mind the odd bumpy section!
2nd July is a smaller coaching event led by Nicky Harverson of the Cheltenham Town Wheelers, who is the current UK and Young Persons Coach of the Year! https://www.ukcoaching.org/events/our-awards
