TT 2018 League update

I have today (12th March) been in dialogue with the site manager for Newland Homes who are building the new housing estate off the B4077, near to the Toddington roundabout.

He has advised me that they are behind on completing their show home (likely to now be mid June) and they have experienced  major delays in obtaining the approvals necessary for the alterations intended to be made to the carriageway on the B4077 which we use for our normal TT courses.  These works involve a new bus stop, the forming of 4 new estate access roads, new pedestrian paths and usual utility works.  These works will be carried out during the clubs TT season, and traffic management procedures will be in place at the time, depending on the nature of the works, which could simply be some bollards or traffic lights with the latter directly affecting the running of our TT event!

The site manager will give me as much notice as possible, on when these phased works will commence and finish, so I have the opportunity to change course (s)!

After consideration, I therefore, propose that we will use the original 10 mile U706 course and 25 mile U703B courses for whenever it is available to us, and when not we either switch to the new U715 course or we try and do some more Inter-Club TT events.  If we arrange with GCC then it will likely be on a Wednesday evening on their Gloucester circuits.

As it stands at the moment if we revert to our new U715 course then the start will likely be from 19:30 hrs (yet be confirmed, subject to more traffic counts on the A46) with sign on at Dumbleton Village Hall from 18:15 hrs.

I will update the League programme this week, but I wanted competitors to be aware of this current situation.
