Volunteering opportunities in April: Hell of the North and Hilly TT

We have two major club events in April where we need your help. This is a great way to put something into the club. Each time you volunteer you get £5 off next year’s membership.

Hell of the North Cotswolds, 8th – 10th April

Please spare whatever time you can to make this event another epic. Each task you help with earns you a £5 club volunteer rebate i.e Mark/Marshal/Sweep = 3x£5 (£15)

On 8th & 9th April we need about 12 people in the afternoons to mark out our half of the course. You ideally need to be on an MTB or cross bike.
On Sunday 10th April we need

  • 20 Marshals and 20 Checkers doing shifts of about 1.5 hours at a time, earliest 9.45am, latest 4.30pm.
  • 2 pairs of riders to sweep up stragglers from from 9.15 am in the morning another 2 pairs to sweep from about 1.15pm.
  • 4-5 pairs of riders to remove course markingsCourse marker clearing groups

RSVP to Martin McGreary (CC-CC) martindmcg@gmail.com

Hilly Time Trial, Sunday 4rd April

We need volunteers to help with marshalling, pushing off and the like. Please let Scott McArdle know if you can help (hitkey@yahoo.com). Don’t forget you will qualify for membership credits for next year by helping out.

We are using the same course as last year – the U75. A map is here.  Dean set a blistering time up there last year. /It starts just north of Circencester, before proceeding up the A435 to Seven Springs, back down again and up the climb at Perrotts Brook, for a total distance of approx 35km.

We are very keen for members to enter the event. There are seperate prize list for road bikes, TT bikes, genders and ages which means everyone has a chance of going for something. Enter via the Cycling Time Trials Website at http://www.ctt.org.uk/event/20822
