Volunteers needed to help at Summer Cyclocross 14th May

The Western Cyclocross league is again running a summer series. This is seen as an ideal way for newcomers to give it a go- it is sponsored by British Cycling so there is no licence or day license fee on top of entry.

The Cheltenham round will be on the evening of Wednesday 14th May and will be at the leisure centre, Pittville Park. We will need helpers to help, set up, judge and marshal and help clear away. John will be at the park at 4pm and any help between then, the running of racing at 7 pm and clearing away hopefully by 9pm will be very welcome. Let him know at johnhawes@tiscali.co.uk if you can help.

We would like to see lots of club riders out to participate too! Mountain bikes will be fine, Cyclocross bikes maybe a bit faster, and if conditions stay as they are now any road bike you would subject to a bit of “rough stuff” will get you round fast too.

If nothing else, consider turning out to watch. There are not many chances to watch good cycle racing in town! And the view of the action in races like this is first class.
