Club Riding Standards

Hello All

Just a quick note to remind club members about the need to maintain the right standards on our group rides. The vast majority of riders that come out on club rides are tolerant of each other and demonstrate a great awareness of the road traffic laws, as well as being courteous to other road users. However, we have recently witnessed examples of poor riding etiquette and standard   two examples of which a fellow club member felt were bad enough to be brought to the attention of the whole club committee. We do have a guide to the expected Road Ride Etiquette and there is an MTB specific version which complements the Road version.

Given the ever increasing numbers we are getting on a Saturday, it is important that we maintain ride standards to avoid the risk of accidents, to stop us getting a negative reputation with other road users and to set a positive example to younger and newer club members.

If you are unsure about any aspect of group riding, please feel free to email me or another committee member and / or to speak to us or to your ride leader on one of the Saturday rides.

Thanks in advance for your cooperation.
