Helpers still needed 29th and 30th Nov for Chedworth Cyclocross

***** still need a few volunteers to help Sunday 30th Nov- see below

The club is running it’s second RWCXL Cyclocross race (Round 10) at Denfurlong Farm, Chedworth on Sunday morning 30th November. The race will be in the old quarry next to the farm shop and café, familiar as a Saturday morning ride elevenses stop.

The main senior race will be at 11pm with vets/women juniors two minutes behind and youth starting 20 minutes later. The bell for last lap will be rung to the leader and rest of the field after about 11.50 . As race adjudication is by chip timing we don’t need help judging this time- although if someone keeps a paper record of rider’s numbers that is a handy insurance against technical problems.

With the numbers and standard of riders we have been getting racing in the league this year we can anticipate a really good competitive spectacle. Anyone can sign on and enter on the day. Mountain bikes may be used although a good Cyclocross bike is likely to be quicker.

We need club members to help.

On Saturday 29th from 2pm we shall be clearing the race track and marking the course, and helpers are required for some heavy duty gardening! Riders prepared to test ride are also welcome. Because of the numbers of riders we expect on track we need to try and make the track capable of overtaking for practically it’s whole span.

On Sunday from about 9.30am we need helpers to run the sign-in desk. This will be in the lobby of the farm shop away from exposure to the elements! We need a few marshals to help monitor the car park and oversee running of the the U12 and main races. If anyone is able to offer first aid cover that would be helpful.

You can always combine it with dropping into the café and shop!

If you can help on either Saturday 29th Nov track clearing/marking and/or want to help run and watch the racing on Sunday 30th Nov itself please will you contact the organiser at johnhawes@tiscali.co.uk
